Vanja Malidžan, member of the Competition Council of BiH, participated as a panelist at the regional conference “Regional Legal Business Forum 2025” which was held from 2nd to 4th November 2025 in Zlatibor (Serbia). The conference is primarily intended for lawyers working in companies in the region, but also for lawyers dealing with commercial law, judges and other employees of the judiciary, lawyers from state bodies and local governments, etc. One of the panels entitled “The role of competition authorities – supervision or regulation?” was dedicated to protection of competition, a topic that is extremely important to many conference participants.
In addition to representatives of the Competition Council of BiH, the panelists were representatives of competition authorities from the region: Siniša Milošević (Serbia), Karolina Andonovska (North Macedonia) and Nebojša Jovović (Montenegro).

The main topics covered during the panel were: the mandate and role of competition authorities, their relationship with the business community, and granting additional competencies to competition authorities such as unfair trading practices, state aid, and consumer protection.

When it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the primary focus of interest was placed on the process of drafting a new Law on Competition, as well as on the methods of communication of the Competition Council of BiH with the business community and the public at large.
