
MEETING OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE COMPETITION COUNCIL OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AND THE MINISTRY OF TRADE AND TOURISM IN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA AND THE REPUBLIC INSTITUTE FOR STATISTICS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA
Representatives of the Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ninela Salihbašić, Aida Fazlagić and Vanja Malidžan, visited Banja Luka where they held a series of meetings with the aim of improving cooperation between institutions and exchanging information on the market situation.
Representatives of the Competition Council first held a meeting with the Minister of Trade and Tourism in the Government of Republika Srpska, Denis Šulić, and his associates.
During the meeting, information was exchanged on the current market situation, with a special focus on the activities undertaken by the Competition Council to protect market competition and the Ministry in the direction of consumer protection.
The Competition Council has a key role in monitoring and preventing distortions of market competition, as well as in suppressing prohibited competitive actions. In this sense, continuous cooperation between institutions is crucial in order to prevent any action that restricts and distorts market competition.
Representatives of the Competition Council also held a meeting with representatives of the Republic Institute of Statistics of Republika Srpska. This meeting was aimed at improving cooperation in the collection and exchange of data, which is of key importance for the work of the Competition Council. Obtaining quality data during investigations greatly facilitates the implementation of the procedure and contributes to the quality of the work of the Competition Council in protecting market competition throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The participants of the meeting expressed their readiness to continue cooperation in the coming period.
