Agreement on Cooperation signed between the Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
In Sarajevo, at the premises of the Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on May 15 2024, Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which implemented an earlier initiative to establish cooperation between these two institutions.
The goal of signing such an agreement is to facilitate activities, increase the transparency and efficiency of the enforcement of laws and other regulations related to the protection of market competition and the issuance and circulation of securities, supervision over the enforcement of laws and other regulations, and access to data and available documentation that the aforementioned institutions have.
President Adisa Begić signed the Agreement on behalf of the Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and President Adnan Zukić on behalf of the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
President Begić said that the Council of Competition of Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized the importance of cooperation between these two institutions, given that during the enforcement activities, it was observed that the Commission for Securities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina worked on cases that appeared before the Council of Competition of BiH , and expressed satisfaction that the leadership of the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized the importance of cooperation and supported the initiative of the Competition Council. During the signing of the Agreement, Mr. Zukić emphasized his satisfaction with the improvement of cooperation with domestic bodies of all levels of government, including the Competition Council, which the Commission recognized as an important partner who can play a significant role in improving the supervisory role of the Commission, that will inevitably result in an increase in transparency and protection of competition, both in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the entire country.
The signing of the Agreement established a formal basis for strengthening cooperation between the federal regulator of the securities market and one of the most important institutions that supervise the unique economic space in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to the positive effects that are expected in terms of improving the supervision of economic entities that are also participants in the capital market, the Agreement foresees and especially emphasized cooperation in educational activities that the Commission and the Council will carry out in the future, in accordance with their strategic and programed activities.
