VISIT OF THE DELEGATION OF THE TURKISH COMPETITION AGENCY
The Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the delegation of the Turkish Competition Authority (TCA), consisting of TCA President Birol Küle, his deputy Burak Büyükkuşoğlu and Ms Fatma Abaz. At the meeting, delegations expressed their satisfaction with mutual cooperation so far and agreed it should be raised to a higher level in view of the economic connection and proven friendship of our countries.
In this sense, TCA representatives presented the Balkan Initiative, the idea that regional competition bodies should cooperate in the fight against cartels and other forms of distortion of competition. Cooperation would be reflected in the exchange of information and experiences as well as coordinated action in those cases that cross the borders of small national markets. The initiative was well received by the countries of the region, and President Küle expressed his desire for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be part of this project, which should be implemented by the end of the year. The President of the Competition Council Adisa Begić, thanked for the invitation and emphasized the importance of international cooperation as a factor in the constant improvement of the protection of market competition.
In the further conversation, the focus was placed on experiences in the application of competition law and policy within the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, with a special focus on current events.
