On November 29 2023, a round table was held in Sarajevo on the topic “Digital transformation of public procurement procedures in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The organizers of this event are the Center for Investigative Journalism (CIN) and partners Futura from Mostar and Center for Research and Studies – GEA from Banja Luka.

Some of the key actors of budget policies and processes participated in the round table, leading a dialogue on public procurement procedures from the point of view of their digital transformation, and ways to increase the transparency of budget spending. The Competition Council was represented by Mladen Ignjić.

Bearing in mind the role that competition authorities play in the fight against secret agreements in public procurement procedures, the participation of representatives of the Competition Council at the Round Table was assessed as very useful. This is especially so because during the discussion the advantages and disadvantages of the e-Procurement portal, abuses that may occur when using the system, as well as possible ways of eliminating these abuses were considered.
